The Stockbridge-Munsee Tribe announced today that it intends to withhold a revenue sharing payment of $923,000 from the State of Wisconsin as the tribe believes the state has violated their Tribal/State gaming compact. The announcement points out two sections of the compact that the tribe says the state is in violation of, both are related to the Ho-Chunk Nation‘s operation of gaming in Wittenberg.

The Ho-Chunk Nation broke ground on a $33 million expansion of its Wittenberg facility in September 2016, amid opposition from the Stockbridge-Munsee and Menominee Indian Tribes.…
